Broken Record

I hate to sound like a broken record, but there has been yet another rash of B&E's into peoples cars. There were three of them around the first week of October. People had their windows smashed in, some purses were stolen... Now, there are several things that could possibly be going on here. People are complacent and think 'oh no, not my car'; people aren't spreading the word or directing one another here to your Dear Anna column, or people simply don't care. So, once again, if you want it stolen, leave it in your car.

That being said, a couple of the block captains said something about this possibly going on early, like 4 am or something, so if there are any of you first shifters out there, or your up for whatever reason and you see strange people mulling about...it's not like people wander through Alger Heights in the wee hours of the morning on a site seeing tour. Call the cops.

Our car was rummaged through last night. As far as we know, nothing was stolen. We're not sure if the car was locked or not - no windows were broken, but we usually keep it locked (though the power locks are flakey, so maybe that's what happened). We're on the 1100 block of Edna.

I just sent a note to AHNA that we'd been broken into twice in the last week. 2400 block of Linden, South of Alger. Once, in the locked garage and took our 2 NEW mountain bikes. And,last night ransacked the car and got various things, including a wallet. Police said there were 3 others that happened last night too, and they did find some stuff up at Quick stop market lot, but not my stuff. Our neighbor 4 doors down also had a bike stolen at the same time ours were stolen.

Received notice today that a couple on Joslin Street had their car contents stolen, unlocked car, lesson learned, still hurts though. But message also said break-ins involved homes. Any more details on that anyone? Thanks.

Well i'd like to know how we can resolve a couple of issues. One being the congestion of people in the street at the corner of Eastern and Merrifield SE and second, the garbage people are dropping off and leaving in the parking lot dumpster behind the U.S. Post Office, seems like every Saturday, AM. Any ideas, suggestions?
